OKUNO CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES was the first company in Japan to industrialize baking powder in 1922.
For over 100 years, we have supplied food additives, shelf-life improvers (extenders), quality improvers, and sanitation products for the food industry.
Our shelf-life extenders are among the market leaders in Japan and help extend the shelf life of a wide range of processed foods.
We support many applications, including confectionery, bakery products, noodles, ready-to-eat meals, fried foods, processed meat and seafood, and frozen foods. Recent developments include quality improvers for frozen foods that help prevent starch retrogradation ("chalkiness"), reduced-salt ingredients, and functional materials derived from rice bran.
